VEGETATION
As landscapes are largely covered by some form of vegetation, the first stage when tackling this genre of painting is to try your hand at depicting plants. A whole landscape can be a daunting prospect, but if you can paint a single plant well itâs just a matter of translating the knowledge and skill you have gained into showing vegetation on a larger scale.
I have chosen a couple of pot plants, one with large leaves and one where you can see the shape of the whole plant. As you learn how to show the way in which the leaves grow off the main stems youâll be discovering how to deal with trees when you start painting a larger part of the landscape.
